About Me

Akron Cookie Company started during the holidays in 2019 when I brought decorated cookies to a cookie swap with friends. I had so much fun making them, that when a friend asked if she could buy some more, of course I said yes! I am a mom of two teenagers, married for 20 years and living in Akron since 2005. My degree in Dietetics and experience in foodservice has come in handy in this business. Along the way, I’m learning more than just cookie making. Marketing, graphic design, and all that comes with managing a small business. It has been quite an adventure. My favorite part of this business is, by far, the feedback I get from my customers when they send pictures or sweet notes of how much they enjoyed having my cookies be part of their special events. Makes my day every time!

A Bit of Information

  • My cookies are vanilla sugar cookies with vanilla royal icing.

  • All cookies come individually heat sealed in clear, food safe bags and will stay fresh for weeks at room temperature in bags. Cookies can also be frozen (bring to room temperature while still sealed in bags for best results).

  • Orders are picked up at my house in the Fairlawn Heights neighborhood in Akron, Ohio.

  • Orders are best placed 2-4 weeks ahead of time (I always tell people “the sooner the better”). You can always check with me to see if I have an opening on my calendar though. Certain times of the year are busier than others.

Ingredients:

Vanilla Sugar Cookie: All purpose flour (wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, enzyme), butter (cream, salt), sugar, brown sugar (sugar, molasses), eggs, pure vanilla extract (vanilla bean, alcohol).

Royal Icing: Confectioners’ sugar (sugar, cornstarch), meringue powder (Modified Food Starch, Dried Egg Whites, Sugar, Gum Arabic, Sodium Aluminosilicate, Citric Acid, Potassium Acid Tartrate, Vanillin), clear vanilla (sugar, propylene glycol, alcohol, artificial flavors), light corn syrup (corn syrup, salt, vanilla extract)
